Welcome to the Nelsonville-York City School’s Office of Special Programs. As director of special programs, I work with students before pre-school through post graduation.
In an effort to equip our area youngsters with school readiness skills, one of our most effective programs is our integrated preschool which serves typical and handicapped preschoolers, ages 3-5. We collaborate with other area preschools, Head Start, and Help Me Grow organizations to provide needed services for our area’s youngest students.
School age children are referred to and evaluated through the Office of Special Programs. I meet regularly with parents, administrators, teachers, and our school psychologist to provide the most appropriate and effective programming for students with special needs, including students with an IEP or 504 Plan, speech, or talented and gifted students.
I am the Title IX Coordinator, as well as the Chairman of the Safe and Drug-Free School Committee. If you have concerns in either of these areas, please contact me.
The Special Programs Office is designed to help children and parents in many different areas. Our school works with area organizations to provide a strong foundation for all of our students in an effort to prepare them for a bright future.
Please contact me with concerns, suggestions, or questions at 740-753-1674. Together we can provide our children with the best chance to succeed!
