The Nelsonville-York City Schools will be represented in the Tournament of Rose Parade® on January 1, 2026 in Pasadena, California. Terry Robb, retired band director from the Nelsonville-York City School District, has been selected to march in the parade with the “Band Directors Marching Band.” Along with the band is a float with the theme “Banding Together” to salute the students, teachers and communities who band together to make music happen through the magic of teamwork. On the float are members of a marching band and a football player playing the trumpet. The organization held an auction to have the bidder’s school colors on the uniform of the football player. Terry won the auction, so the football player’s uniform will be Brown, White, and Orange with “NY” on the front and the name “BUCKEYES” with the number 75 on the back. These colors, name and number represent the Nelsonville-York City School District and everyone in Nelsonville and Southeast Ohio.
